There was a debate over the 1995 and the 1996 vintages as to which was the best vintage for Hunter Semillons. Semillon when young is always pale in colour; the nose reminding us of freshly mown grass. It generally has a crisp, flinty finish on the palate. As it gains bottle experience it goes through other phases, developing lemon and lime characteristics and beginning to assume a colour that tends to golden.. This wine has reached this phase and is nicely developed. It is very suitable to be enjoyed with fresh seafood.
