Budburst was the best it had been for many years. Rain produced some problems with downy mildew and vintage was a little later than the average. This Chardonnay is quite unique as we believe it has been slightly affected by Botrytis cinerea commonly known as “Noble Rot” and as a result it has developed into a distinctive and delicious wine which is not over sweet or clinging on the palate like most traditional dessert wines. It is more of a dry dessert style that is suitable to enjoy with the appropriate desert. |
